Credentialing Parameters for Particular Disciplines

All degrees and course work must be obtained from regionally accredited colleges or universities.

a master's degree with a major in TESOL, reading or linguistics.

18 graduate semester hours in reading or language arts + master's degree
or
a master's degree with a major in reading
or
a master's degree with a major in education that includes a reading specialist designation.

REA (Developmental)      baccalaureate degree in reading, English, literature, language arts or a related education degree 
or

an associate degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline
