Firewalls

SCF firewalls control information entering and exiting the College network to prevent data loss.

Firewalls may:

• Block viruses, worms and Trojans from gaining access to a network.
• Prevent unwanted sharing of files and computer devices.
• Prevent applications on a computer from connecting to the Internet if they don't need to.
• Make it difficult for hackers to access network applications and computer systems.
