(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 4, 2010) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) resumes normal operation Monday, Jan. 4, following Winter Break.

Tuesday, Jan. 5, is the last day new student applications (including readmission applications) will be accepted for Spring term classes that begin Jan. 11-16.

The Academic Resource Center and Library will reopen on Monday, Jan. 11.

Other important Spring term dates include:

• Tuesday, Jan. 5, last day for submission of residency documentation for Spring term

• Wednesday, Jan. 6., last day the Florida College Entry Level Placement Test will be offered to new students enrolling in classes that begin Jan. 11-16

• Monday, Jan. 11, Spring term classes begin; deadline for paying tuition and fee balances not covered by financial aid; including Florida Prepaid and Bright Futures scholarships Note: Important Information for Students with Financial Aid. Visit

• Saturday, Jan. 16, at midnight is the deadline for students to add/drop classes that began Jan. 11-16 with a refund.

Associate degree tuition is $87.88 per hour for Florida residents and $331.40 for nonresident students. SCF's new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) program begins in January. SCF’s baccalaureate level tuition is $97.45 for in-state students and $367.45 for nonresident students. A separate application process for the B.S.N. program is required.
