SCF Hosts Spring Open House at Bradenton and Venice

(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 15, 2009) – High school students, their families and others interested in higher education will have the opportunity to learn about programs and services at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Open House events.

An Open House will be held at 5 - 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West in the Student Union, building 14, and 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail in the Selby Room, building 800.

SCF offers an Associate in Arts degree and some Associate in Science degrees for students who intend to transfer to university programs and more than 20 Associate in Applied Science degrees that prepare students to enter the workforce immediately upon graduation. SCF’s new Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program began Spring 2010.

Students who intend to transfer to university programs as well as students who want to immediately enter the workforce can find out about convenient and affordable opportunities and take campus tours. They will learn about:

• degree programs;

• academic departments;

• financial aid; and

• how to get started.

An SCF scholarship drawing will be held for eligible high school students.
