SCF to Host International Performer Dr. Kevin Orr

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 23, 2010) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Music Program will host a concert by pianist Dr. Kevin Orr at 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 16, in Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.

The concert will feature works by well known composers Ludwig van Beethoven, Leonard Bernstein and Johannes Brahms.

Orr also will present a master class to SCF students at 1 – 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 17. The class is free and open to the public.

An internationally acclaimed classical soloist and collaborative artist, Orr has performed and taught in China, Australia, South Korea, Canada, and throughout Europe. As an associate professor of music and 2009-2011 Research Foundation Professor at the University of South Florida, Orr has focused his international work in China. He serves as co-founder and director of the Chinese-American International Piano Institute, an annual event held at the Sichuan Conservatory in Chengdu, China.
