SCF to Present Chamber Ensemble Concert

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 26, 2010) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Guitar Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Chamber Choir and Chamber Ensembles, including Brass Quintet and Piano Trio, will perform in a concert at 8 p.m., Thursday, April 1, in the Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.

The concert will feature classics and more recent pieces from a variety of composers.

Melodie Dickerson, director of choral and vocal studies at SCF, will direct the SCF Chamber Choir. Dickerson is a singer and pianist who also has performed in many theatrical venues. Lurray Myers, accomplished pianist and organist, will accompany the choir.

The SCF Guitar Ensemble will be directed by SCF music instructor Rex Willis, a published composer and classical guitarist.

Marc Mannino will direct the Jazz Combo. Mannino, a music instructor at SCF, has performed at jazz festivals in Atlanta, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis and Toronto, Canada.

Chamber Ensembles will be conducted by Robyn Wilkes, SCF director of instrumental studies.
