SCF Venice Creative Writing Club to Host Author Tim Dorsey

(Bradenton, Fla., March 5, 2010) – State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host a discussion by author Tim Dorsey at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, building 800, Selby Room. Sponsored by Swamp Scribes, the creative writing club at SCF Venice, the event is free and open to the public.

Dorsey, author of Florida-based mystery novels, will discuss his writing experience and his works, including his latest novel, “Gator A-Go-Go,” released in January. The novel chronicles the adventures of main characters Serge A. Storms, a Florida serial killer, and his sidekick, Seymore "Coleman" Bunsen, as they make a film about spring break in Florida.

A former newspaper journalist and editor who grew up in Florida, Dorsey combines his experience covering crime and courts with his knowledge of Florida history to create light-hearted mystery novels. His other novels include “Hurricane Punch,” “Atomic Lobster” and “Nuclear Jellyfish.”

Dorsey will be available to sign autographs of his latest book on sale at the event.
