SCF Student Vocalists Perform Musical Theatre Scenes

(Bradenton, Fla., March 23 , 2010) – State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Vocal Performance Workshop students will perform songs and scenes from musical theatre productions at 8 p.m., Monday, April 19, in Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. The event is free and open to the public.

Selected songs and scenes are from the following musical productions: “Chicago,” “Pippin,” “Cats,”“Phantom of The Opera,”“You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown,”“The Secret Garden,” “Jekyll and Hyde,”“South Pacific,” “West Side Story,”“25th Annual Spelling Bee” and “Spring Awakening.” All scenes are fully costumed, staged and choreographed to highlight SCF vocal music talent in duets, small groups and ensembles.

The workshop will be directed by Melodie Dickerson, director of choral and vocal studies at SCF, and accompanied by pianist Lurray Myers.
