Studio 84 Productions Presents "The Sweetest Swing in Baseball"
(Bradenton, Fla., March 23, 2010) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Studio 84 Productions will present “The Sweetest Swing in Baseball” at 8 p.m., Friday - Saturday, April 16-17, and Thursday - Saturday, April 22-24, in the David S. & Anne V. Howard Studio Theatre at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, building 11West. Two matinee performances are scheduled at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 18, and April 25.
Written by American playwright Rebecca Gilman, the play surrounds main character Dana Fielding, an artist who becomes suicidal after a slump in her career and personal life. After landing in a mental ward, Fielding learns her health insurance will pay for only a short stay so she feigns a multiple personality disorder and pretends to be troubled baseball star Darryl Strawberry.
The play is directed by Dean Anthony. Katelyn Studer will play the lead role as Dana. Other cast members are Nick Delisi, Edson Seide, Olivia Abbacchi, Giovonnii Austin, Jeff Beghtel, Sally Fint, Mary Bellows, Megan Kroger, Rachael Bayor, Adam Condor, Emily Jamieson, Janet Raines, Megan Sicks and Michael Walton.
