SCF Showcases Student Artwork

(Bradenton, Fla., March 30, 2010) — An annual juried Art Student Exhibition featuring the best artwork produced by State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) students in the 2009-10 academic year will open with a reception at noon on Friday, April 16, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, building 10. The reception is free and open to the public.

Ann Wykell, an independent program development professional and public arts coordinator for Bradenton Downtown Development Authority, will judge the competition. A total of $1,125 in cash awards will be presented for the Best in Show, President’s Award, Juror’s Award and to the top three winners in the following categories: pottery, sculpture, photography, graphic design, and drawing, painting or printmaking.

Exhibit dates are April 16 – May 6. Artwork will be available for viewing Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. For more information, call the fine and performing art department at 941-752-5251. Maps and directions are online at scf.edu/maps.
