SCF PTK Members Help Families in Need

(Bradenton, Fla., April 2, 2010) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) students in the Nu Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society joined about 100 volunteers to pack more than 101,000 bags of food for local families during the Community Food Packing Day to benefit All Faiths Food Bank on Saturday, March 27, at the Boys & Girls Club in Sarasota.

Nu Zeta members who participated with David Nezelek, instructor, department of mathematics, and Nu Zeta adviser, included: Laura Shade, Roxy McLeod, Becca Cook, Zena Pirnot, Nellie Woodson, Raul Sabala, Hayley Durham, Alex Everingham, Alyx Wilder, Katie Griffin, Susan Gomez and Bibi Huang. Zaph Manigat, SCF Venice Student Government Association (SGA) vice president, and Tony Thompson, SCF Venice SGA chief justice, also helped.
