Information Sessions for Teaching Certification Program at SCF
(Bradenton, Fla., July 1, 2010) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host information sessions about its Alternative Certification Program (ACP). The program is for people who have at least a bachelor's degree with a noneducation major, or teachers with temporary certificates who need professional course work.
Hour-long sessions are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. for the following locations:
• Monday, Aug., 16, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, building 9, room 131.
• Wednesday, August 11, Wednesday, Sept. 1, and Wednesday, Oct. 20, at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy. East, room 214.
• Wednesday, Aug. 18 and Wednesday, Sept. 15, and Wednesday, Nov. 10, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, building 800.
After finishing all courses in the program and passing required state and college exams, participants will receive certificates of completion that make them eligible for the Florida Department of Education's professional teaching certificate. Evening and weekend scheduling of classes allows working professionals to participate. The cost for the program is approximately $2,000.
