SCF Manatees Players Sign with MLB Teams

(Bradenton, Fla., July 22, 2010) – State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Baseball pitchers Alex Burgos and Josh Lucas have signed Major League Baseball contracts.

Burgos has signed with the Detroit Tigers. Burgos finished the season with a record of 13-2 with a 1.42 earned run average.

Lucas signed with the St. Louis Cardinals. His record this season was 5-5 with a 4.26 earned run average.

The SCF Manatees won the 2010 FCCAA State Championship and were invited to the JUCO World Series.
