Guest Pianist Spencer Myer Performs Nov. 5 at SCF
(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 7, 2010) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) , in partnership with the Florida State Music Teachers Association, will host a guest recital by well-known pianist Spencer Myer at 8:15 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5, in Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.
At the concert, Myer will perform works by Baldassare Galuppi, Robert Schumann, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Liszt and Enrique Granados.
Myer, gold medalist of the 2008 New Orleans International Piano Competition, has presented concerts in New York City’s Weill Recital Hall, 92nd Street Y and Steinway Hall, Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and London’s Wigmore Hall. He performed Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” at the 2007 inaugural festivities of Ohio’s Governor Ted Strickland and Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher. He also has appeared in orchestral, recital and chamber music performances throughout North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Myer placed first in the 10th UNISA International Piano Competition in Pretoria, South Africa in 2004.
