SCF Music Program Presents Fall Festival of Music Concert

(Bradenton, Fla., September 23, 2010) — The State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Music Program will present its first concert of the 2010-11 academic year at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5, in the Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.

The Fall Festival of Music, featuring a wide variety of music from classical to jazz, will include: Concert Choir and Chamber Choir, directed by Melodie Dickerson; Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo, directed by Marc Mannino; Guitar Ensemble, directed by Rex Willis; and Wind Ensemble and College Orchestra, directed by Robyn Wilkes.

Prior to the concert, selected pieces from the series “Synesthesia,” by Joe Loccisano, SCF’s Fine Art Gallery manager, will be on display in the newly renovated Neel Performing Arts Center lobby. The featured artwork, inspired by SCF music students, depicts the confluence of art and music. The full series is the latest addition to SCF’s permanent fine art collection.
