SCF Art Faculty Exhibition Begins Nov. 19
Features Ceramics by Ted Camp
(Bradenton, Fla., October 12, 2010) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host an opening reception for the annual SCF Art Faculty Exhibition at 6-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, building 11 North. The reception is free and open to the public.
A special feature of the exhibition will include a retrospective of ceramics representing a number of styles and themes created by Ted Camp, chair of SCF’s fine and performing arts department, in his 36 years of service to SCF. Since joining SCF, then MJC, in 1974, Camp has developed a highly successful ceramics program that has inspired many students to continue to pursue careers in the field. Students gain practical experience in producing ceramics for the public at the Annual Holiday and Ceramics Sale, a popular tradition for people shopping for holiday gifts every year.
The exhibition, showcasing a broad range of artworks produced in the last year by SCF full-time and adjunct instructors, also features drawing, graphic design, photography, painting, printmaking, sculpture and video.
The SCF Art Faculty Exhibition provides an opportunity for talented SCF faculty to share their artistic explorations and for students and the public to view their work. In addition to Camp, faculty participants include James Alexander, Chris Bellanca, Sherri Hill, Joseph Loccisano, Gundel (Danni) Sullivan, Jamie Tracy, Andrew Webster and Jessica Wilson.
Exhibition dates are Nov. 19 – Jan. 20. Fine Art Gallery hours are Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. For more information, call Joe Loccisano, gallery manager, at 941-752-5225. Maps and directions are online at scf.edu/maps.
