Buffett's Successor Combs Has SCF Ties
Todd Combs, alum of State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), has been selected by billionaire investor Warren Buffett to succeed Buffett upon his retirement, as announced this week by business media around the world.
Mr. Combs was a dual-enrolled student at SCF from 1987 through 1989 in the Associate in Arts degree program. He is a Sarasota native who transferred to Florida State University and went on to earn an MBA from Columbia University.
“Mr. Combs’ success speaks well of him as an individual, and I believe it also reflects positively on the quality of education he received as a young person here in his home community,” said SCF President Dr. Lars A. Hafner. “Our College can share in the community’s sense of pride, knowing that we contributed to providing a solid start to his academic career, just as we have done for tens of thousands of young people over our 53-year history and as we will continue to do into the future.”
