SCF's Hill Named 2010 Coach of the Year

(Bradenton, Fla., October 29, 2010) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Head Baseball Coach Tim Hill was named the 2010 College Coach of the Year by the Florida Diamond Club.

Hill, who was chosen by professional baseball scouts, was presented the prestigious award, which considers coaches from all college levels statewide, at the annual Florida Diamond Club Showcase in October.

Founded by the Florida Scout’s Association in 1972, the Florida Diamond Club is a nonprofit baseball organization with members including professional scouts, amateur coaches, players’ parents and fans.

During the 2010 baseball season, Hill led the SCF Manatees Baseball team to win the Suncoast Conference Championship and FCCAA/NJCAA Gulf District State Tournament. The state championship is SCF’s 13th state title and Hill’s sixth state title. Hill also was named FCCAA/NJCAA Gulf District Coach of the Year.
