SCF Earth Club and Honor Society Participate in SandBlast Competition

(Bradenton, Fla., December 7, 2010) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Nu Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Earth Club participated in the 2010 SandBlast Competition, a fundraiser for Keep Manatee Beautiful.

PTK raised $300 through sponsorship from Manatee Waste Management. The Earth Club, which has participated in the SandBlast Competition for the past eight years, raised $600 this year through sponsors Sarasota Bay Estuary Program and former State Rep. Bill Galvano. SCF Professor Don Hall also was honored with a medallion for 10 years of support for Keep Manatee Beautiful.
