SCF Wins Marketing/Advertising Awards at State Convention

(Bradenton, Fla., December 14, 2010) – State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Public Affairs and Marketing won Best in Show at the 2010 Communications and Marketing Commission competition at the Florida Association of Community Colleges (FACC) 61st Annual Convention in Jacksonville in November. SCF received a cash award for the honor.

SCF also won Student’s Choice award in the Viewbook/Recruitment category and claimed first place in the Trendsetter category for a video “walkout” on the college’s tennis Web page that introduced Betsy McCormack, head coach of the SCF women’s tennis team.

Other first-place awards were in the following categories: Viewbook/Recruitment, Student Handbook, Direct Mail, Print Advertizing, Press Release/Story Pitch and Brochure. Second-place awards included Outdoor Ad and Video/Electronic Promotion categories.

The winning submissions were prepared by the college's public affairs and marketing staff with the help of local businesses including BGD Associates, MarsVision Productions, Captivation Media Group and AnythingArts.
