SCF's Robertson Named 2010 Outstanding Faculty Member

(Bradenton, Fla., December 15, 2010) – Dr. Margery Robertson, State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) natural sciences and wellness professor and SCF Faculty Senate president, was honored with the 2010 Vivian M. Dellinger Outstanding Faculty Member Award at the Florida Association of Community Colleges (FACC) 61st Annual Convention in Jacksonville in November.

Robertson, who was the only faculty member among Florida’s 28 state and community colleges to receive the award for distinguished service to FACC and SCF, was nominated by Dr. Mike Mears, SCF Bradenton provost and vice president of baccalaureate programs.

“Margie is well deserving of this award for her significant contributions to FACC and SCF for more than two decades. Her tireless efforts speak to her genuine belief in the organization and what it represents,” Mears said.

Since joining FACC in 1988, Robertson has been an active member of the organization, serving as a delegate to the FACC Faculty Commission throughout the years. She also has served as membership chair and president of SCF’s FACC chapter. Robertson currently is chair of the FACC Faculty Commission.
