SCF Business Club to Host District Conference
(Bradenton, Fla., January 25, 2011) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Venice Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Business Club will host the Florida PBL District IV Leadership Conference at 8 a.m.– 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29, at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy. East, Sarasota.
Participating in the competition are teams from SCF Bradenton, University of South Florida, South Florida Community College and Pasco-Hernando Community College. The district competition will prepare and qualify the participants for the state PBL Leadership Conference and Competition on March 10-13 in Tampa.
Qualifying PBL members from Florida community colleges, state colleges, state universities and private universities will compete for the three days at the state level to advance to the national conference on June 23-26 in Orlando.
Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is a nonprofit education association with a quarter million students preparing them for careers in business and business-related fields by developing their leadership, communication and team skills and giving them an opportunity to network and compete at local, state and national levels. The association has four divisions including Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) for high school students; FBLA-Middle Level for junior high, middle, and intermediate school students; PBL for postsecondary students; and Professional Division for businesspeople, FBLA-PBL alumni, educators, and parents who support the goals of the association.
