Wind Ensemble Concert at SCF Feb. 24

(Bradenton, Fla., February 3, 2011) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Wind Ensemble will present a concert at 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, in Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.

The SCF Wind Ensemble will feature “Valdres” by Johannes Hanssen, “Pacem, Hymn for Peace” by Robert Spittal, and “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” by Elliot Del Borgo.

Conducted by Robyn Wilkes, director of instrumental studies, the SCF Wind Ensemble is comprised of students pursuing a variety of fields including music, nursing, engineering, teaching and various other professions.

SCF will be joined by Braden River High School Wind Ensemble. Directed by Kendall Carrier, the ensemble will perform “March Grandioso” by Roland Seitz, “An American Elegy” by Frank Ticheli and “Chorale and Shaker Dance” by John Zdechlik.
