SCF Orchestra to Present Concert

(Bradenton, Fla., February 3, 2011) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Orchestra will present a concert at 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25, in Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.

The concert will feature a performance of “Brother James Air” by James Leith MacBeth Bain,

“Song Without Words” by Gustav Holst, “Marche Slave” by Peter Tchaikovsky and “New World Symphony”- Movement 1 by Antonin Dvorak.

Conducted by Robyn Wilkes, director of instrumental studies, the SCF College Orchestra is comprised of students pursuing a variety of fields including music, nursing, engineering, teaching and various other professions.

SCF will by joined by Southeast High School Orchestra. Conducted by Joe Downs, the orchestra will perform “Rondo from Masterpiece Theater” by Jean Mouret, “Midnight Beguine” by Clare Grundman and “Moods Americana” by Gerald Humel.
