SCF to Sponsor Manasota Diversity Conference
(Bradenton, Fla., February 16, 2011) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), in partnership with the Suncoast Workforce and Latino Community Network, is a sponsor of the Manasota Diversity Conference at 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, at the Manatee Convention and Civic Center, One Haben Blvd., Palmetto. A reception will be held from 5 -6:30 p.m.
The day-long event features plenary speaker Allan Lane, economic development manager for the City of North Port and keynote speaker Raymond Bellamy, a Manatee County native and former professional football. The conference also will give participants an opportunity to reflect on diversity through speeches and educational sessions.
Twelve sessions offered at the event are sponsored by leading companies in the area including the Suncoast Workforce, SCF, Tidewell Hospice, Fifth Third Bank, the City of North Port, Manatee County Government, the Latino Community Network and the Sarasota County Government. Continuing Education Units also will be awarded to certain areas in human resources, social services and health services.
Presenters will provide tools that allow organizations to develop a diversity plan at low or no cost, enabling them to effectively provide services to global clientele and growing diverse populations of Southwest Florida.

The cost is $75, which includes lunch and the reception following the conference. Admission is $45 for students.
