SCF Fine Art Gallery to Feature Craig Rubadoux Exhibition
(Bradenton, Fla., February 17, 2011) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Fine Art Gallery will display a father-and-son exhibition by painter Craig Rubadoux and photographer Craig Rubadoux at an opening reception at 6 – 8 p.m., Friday, March 4, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, building 11 North. The reception is free and open to the public.
The elder Rubadoux will exhibit a series of figure paintings that focuses on his personal views of emotions. Paintings in the exhibit, which include his earlier works, offer a rare glimpse of the artist’s virtuoso style. He has participated in more than 70 exhibitions.
His artwork is included in many public and private collections at including the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Lowe Museum of Art in Ft. Lauderdale, and Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The younger Rubadoux will exhibit his photography. He has been a photojournalist for Florida Today and USA Today for 23 years and has received numerous honors from the Central Florida Press Club, Florida Press Club, Gannett and Florida Society of Newspaper Editors. He also won Florida Today’s Most Visual Award and Best Presentation Award. In addition, his work has appeared in Newsweek, Life Magazine and U.S. News and World Report.
