SCF Film Club to Host "TV ME!" Educational Event
(Bradenton, Fla., March 22, 2011) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), in partnership with Sarasota County Film & Entertainment Office (SCFEO), will host an educational panel discussion about the “TV ME!” contest from 4 – 6 p.m., Monday, March 28, in the Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. Sponsored by the SCF Film Club, the event is free and open to the public.
Charles Meyer, SCFEO contest director and executive director of The Scriptwriters Network, and Jeanne Corcoran, director of the SCFEO, will participate in a discussion about “TV ME!” and present some of the contest’s winners and finalists who will share their experiences of developing original television program concepts from start to finish.
Launched by SCFEO in 2010, the “TV ME!” contest received more than 250 entries. The grand prize winner will have the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles to pitch their television program concept to decision makers in the television industry. In addition, first-place winners of each category – Scripted, Unscripted and Specials – will each receive a $250 cash reward, a practice session with professional pitch coaches and an opportunity to send pitches to decision makers in the television industry for review and consideration.
Winners will be announced at a press conference on Monday, March 28, at 10:30 a.m. at the Longboat Key Club & Resort, the “TV ME!” presenting sponsor. Click here for more information.
