SCF Student Vocalists Perform Musical Theatre Scenes

(Bradenton, Fla., April 11, 2011) – State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) student vocalists will perform songs and scenes from musical theatre productions at 8 p.m., Monday, April 18, in Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. The event is free and open to the public.

Students will perform scenes from “Kiss Me Kate,” “Babes in Arms,” “Chess,” “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Rent,” “Chicago,” “Spamalot,” “Damn Yankees,” “Ragtime,” “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” “The Great American Trailer Park Musical” and “Evil Dead.” All scenes are fully costumed, staged and choreographed to highlight SCF vocal music talent in duets, small groups and ensembles.

The performance will be directed by Melodie Dickerson, director of choral and vocal studies at SCF, and accompanied by pianist Lurray Myers. The State College of Florida Collegiate School Music Ensemble, directed by Catherine Randazzo, will join the performance.
