SCF Showcases Student Artwork at SCF Bradenton and SCF Venice
(Bradenton, Fla., April 12, 2011) - Annual juried SCF Art Student Exhibitions featuring the best artwork produced by State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) students in the 2010-11 academic year will be on display from Monday - Friday, April 15 - April 29, in the Fine Art Gallery at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, building 11 North, and from Monday - Friday, April 22 - May 2, in the Library at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, building 300.
The exhibit at SCF Bradenton will open with a reception at noon on Friday, April 15, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, building 11 North. Artwork on display includes Best in Show, SCF President's Award, and the top three winners in the following categories: photography, graphic design, two-dimensional design and three-dimensional design. The reception is free and open to the public. Theo Wujcik, professor emeritus at the University of South Florida where he taught from 1972 to 2003, will judge the competition at SCF Bradenton. Wujcik recently featured his exhibition, "Transformation," at SCF. Artwork will be available for viewing Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
At SCF Venice, the exhibition features the following categories: graphic design, two-dimensional design and three-dimensional design. Cash prizes will be awarded. Artwork will be juried by SCF fine and performing arts adjunct instructors Jessica Wilson and James Alexander. The final selections will be judged by SCF Venice Provost Darlene Wedler-Johnson. Artwork will be available for viewing Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
