Tobacco-Free Campus Policy Effective May 9

(Bradenton, Fla., April 22, 2011) — In keeping with State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota's (SCF) longstanding commitment to the health and well-being of students, employees and visitors, SCF’s Tobacco-Free Policy will be implemented at all three SCF campuses on May 9. (The policy became effective in January at SCF Lakewood Ranch.)

The policy applies to all students, employees and visitors of State College of Florida.

Tobacco use of all types, including smoked and smokeless tobacco, other smokeable products and electronic cigarettes, will be prohibited on campus grounds, parking lots, SCF-sponsored off-campus events and within SCF-owned vehicles.

By adopting this proactive tobacco-free policy, SCF joins more than 250 American colleges and universities in helping lead our communities by providing clean air and a healthy environment for all students, employees and visitors.
