SCF Fine Art Gallery to Feature "New Acquisitions"
(Bradenton, Fla., May 25, 2011) —State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will display “New Acquisitions” in an exhibit Monday – Thursday, May 31-June 21, and Monday-Friday, Aug. 15 – Sept. 7, in the Fine Art Gallery at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, building 11 North.
“New Acquisitions” from the SCF art collection features works by artist Theo Wujcik that include a series of blind contour drawings that are being exhibited for the first time.
Wujcik is a professor emeritus of the University of South Florida where he taught from 1972 to 2003. Known for his silverpoint and lithographic portraits of famous artists including Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist and Jim Dine, he continues to paint and exhibit his work internationally.
The SCF art collection also includes works by Richard Anuszkiewicz, Leonard Baskin, John Boydell, Salvador Dali, Marcel Duchamp, Max Ernst, Francisco Goya, Kathe Kollwitz, Oldrich Kulhanek, Edvard Munch, Pablo Picasso, Georges Rouault, Maggie Taylor, Jerry N. Uelsmann and other artists.
