SCF, City of North Port to Host Lunch and Learn Workshop About Media Relations
(Bradenton, Fla., September 1, 2011) — Local business owners and nonprofit organization leaders interested in finding out how to tell their stories and interact with the local media are encouraged to attend a free Lunch and Learn Workshop hosted by State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the City of North Port.
The workshop, “Media Relations 101,” will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, in Room 203, at USF Sarasota-Manatee at North Port, 5920 Pan American Boulevard, North Port, FL 34287.
Workshop topics will address how local newsrooms operate, how to write a press release, how to participate in an interview, and other important aspects of working with the media. Led by North Port’s Community Outreach Manager Erin Bryce, the workshop will include a panel of speakers from ABC 7, North Port Magazine, North Port Sun, Sarasota Herald-Tribune Media Group, and SNN6.
