SCF Hosts Fall 2011 Teacher Preparation Information Sessions
(Bradenton, Fla., October 13, 2011) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host information sessions about its Alternative Certification Program (ACP). The program is for people who have at least a bachelor's degree with a noneducation major, or teachers with temporary certificates who need professional course work.
Hour-long sessions are scheduled on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. for the following locations:
- Nov. 2, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, building 800, Selby Room
- Nov. 16, at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy. East, Center for Innovation & Technology, room 214.
After finishing all courses in the program and passing required state and college exams, participants will receive certificates of completion that make them eligible for the Florida Department of Education's professional teaching certificate. Evening and weekend scheduling of classes allows working professionals to participate. The cost for the program is approximately $2,000.
