Arts & Letters Day at SCF Venice Nov. 1

(Bradenton, Fla., October 14, 2011) – State College of Florida, Manatee – Sarasota (SCF) language and literature department will host Arts and Letters Day on Tuesday, Nov.1, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail. The event is free and open to the public.

At 1 p.m., the FSU/Asolo Conservatory will perform “Hamlet, Redux,” a contemporary adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic play, “Hamlet.”

Other planned events include:

  • Poetry reading by Jeff Grieneisen, SCF assistant professor, who will present his new book, “Good Sumacs.”
  • Open microphone for musicians and poets, sponsored by the Swamp Scribes Club, at the Performance Pavilion.
