SCF Orchestra to Present Concert
(Bradenton, Fla., October 24, 2011) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Orchestra will present a joint concert with the Lakewood Ranch High School Orchestra at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15, in Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.
The concert will feature Camille Saint-Saens’ “Danse Baccanale” from “Samson and Delilah,” Vivaldi's Double Cello Concerto, featuring SCF cello students Ashton Wade and Grace Binder, Johannes Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 1 and Franz Schubert’s “Unfinished Symphony.”
Conducted by Robyn Wilkes, director of instrumental studies, the SCF College Orchestra is comprised of students pursuing a variety of fields including music, nursing, engineering, teaching and various other professions. SCF will be joined by Lakewood Ranch High School Orchestra, conducted by Steve Terry.
