SCF SBDC Offers New Growth Acceleration Services
(Bradenton, Fla., November 1, 2011) — The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is offering new services to eligible businesses in the region through the Growth Acceleration Program.
“Small businesses that need a boost in the present economic climate can benefit from the Growth Acceleration Program that helps businesses owners take their companies to the next level,” said Carolyn Griffin, director of SCF’s SBDC.
Designed to help businesses improve performance and drive success, the Growth Acceleration Program offers strategies for planning, assessing and accessing capital, determining marketing diversification tactics and implementing financial practices and institutional relationships.
Requirements for small businesses to participate in the Florida SBDC’s Growth Acceleration services include:
• A goal for growth
• Minimum of three years in business
• 5 or more full-time employees
• $500,000 to $10 million in annual sales
Jim Martin, a Venice-based SBDC counselor who is highly qualified in corporate management and consulting, offers GAP program services at SCF. Martin has over 30 years of experience as a senior- level executive in driving growth strategies and successfully implementing tactical and strategic business plans.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Oklahoma City University. He serves on the board of directors for the Loveland Center in Venice, and he is a member of the Sarasota Chapter of Trusted Advisors.
“There are many business owners that need another set of eyes to review their business plan and help them implement strategies to increase revenue and hire new employees. The Growth Acceleration Program gives them the tools they need to succeed in growing their businesses in a challenging economy,” Martin said.
