SCF Visual and Performing Arts Ad Featured in US Airways Special Insert

(Bradenton, Fla., November 4, 2011) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota’s (SCF) Visual and Performing Arts programs are featured in a special section of the November issue of US Airways magazine. Sponsored by Sarasota Convention and Visitor's Bureau, the insert highlights economic development and cultural tourism based on the rich arts and cultural offerings in our area. 

The special section, which includes a full-page SCF ad, will reach an estimated three million travelers internationally.

The ad touts SCF as the only comprehensive college in this region that offers a broad array of visual and performing arts education and performances as well as a strong economic development focus. It includes a sidebar about SCF’s responsiveness to the business community as demonstrated by the College’s workforce degrees and broad offerings of noncredit classes, workshops, and seminars through SCF’s Corporate and Community Development.

“We are a college that reflects the communities we serve. SCF’s visual and performing arts offerings contribute to the area’s rich culture and quality of life, which is a key factor in attracting businesses and bolstering economic development,” said SCF President Dr. Lars A. Hafner.

The 47-page advertorial section is the largest insert that has been included in an US Airways in-flight magazine, said Stephen Mitchem, vice president/publisher of US Airways Magazine.

In addition to the international circulation of the US Airways magazine, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune will include the insert in the newspaper the week after Thanksgiving.
