Drees Named SCF Associate V.P. of Student Development
(Bradenton, Fla., March 8, 2012) — Lynn Drees has been named State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) associate vice president of student development.
In her new role, Drees provides supervisory leadership, sets priorities and monitors the delivery of services provided by the college’s student development department including advising services, disability resource centers, career resource centers and assessment/testing services.
“I am proud to lead SCF’s student support services staff and work alongside faculty to continue improving educational opportunities and providing the best possible experiences for students,” Drees said.
Prior to joining SCF, she was an assistant director in student services at University of South Florida Sarasota – Manatee. Before moving to Florida to take a position as operations supervisor at the University of Phoenix in Tampa/Sarasota, she served at the university’s campus in Reno, Nev., helping students as an academic counselor and enrollment counselor.
“Lynn brings a wealth of experience in both the facilitation of learning outcome assessments and the preparation of Southern Association of Colleges and Schools core requirements, federal requirements, and comprehensive standards as applicable to educational and student services,” said Dr. Bowman, vice president of educational and student services.
Drees received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing from the University of Phoenix. She also has graduate certificates in Web design, Florida digital/virtual educator and distance education.
She lives with her husband in Myakka City.
