SCF Math Faculty Members Administer ACES Competition

(Bradenton, Fla., April 26, 2012 ) — Faculty members from State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota’s (SCF) math department created, administered and graded examinations for the annual Math ACES competition for public and private high schools in Manatee and Sarasota counties held on March 22.

Winners of this year’s competition are Robert Eginton, Booker High School; Thomas Richards, North Port High School; Andrew Foster, Pine View School; Bailey Pecor, Riverview High School, Benjamin LeBoutillier, Sarasota Military Academy; Nathan Elsishans, Sarasota High School; Riley Kohler, Suncoast Polytechnical High School; Brian Basnight, Venice High School; Calvin John Wheeler, Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School; Michael Elliott, Braden River High School; Kevin Healy, Palmetto High School; Jesse Spinelli, Lakewood Ranch High School; Daniel Glazar, Southeast High School; Kevin Espinet, Manatee High School; and Nathan Carr, St. Stephen’s Episcopal School.

Each school's top scorer will be recognized at a school ceremony and receive a $100 award and a plaque at the school's senior awards assembly.

The exam is sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers, The State College of Florida Foundation Inc., the Education Foundation of Sarasota County Inc. and the Sarasota Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
