SCF Student Art Exhibition Winners Named

(Bradenton, Fla. May 10, 2012) —State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) fine and performing arts department has announced winners of the 2011-2012 SCF Student Art Exhibition. Students were presented with cash awards and certificates at Spring 2012 Honors Convocation.

SCF Bradenton students Elliott Stiner won Best in Show for his self-portrait, “Red.” Chris Blond received the SCF President’s Award for “Indigo Jungle” and Kaitlin McDaniel won the Juror’s Award for “Snow White with Green Apple.” Winners in the graphic design category were Pam Moses, “Skeleton Watch,” first place; David Gonzalez, “Dancing House,” second place; and Annamae Batia, “Fellin’ Jazz,” third place.

Photography winners included Randy Burton, “Curved,” first place; Ricardo Alonso Araujo, “Alexis,” second place; and Bob Hartman, “Red-Seated Chair,” third place.

Two-dimensional design winners were Christopher Rees, “Digital Beetle,” first place; Jeff Hansen, “Untitled,” second place; Katelyn Moran, “Egg Still Life,” third place.

Students who won three-dimensional design awards were Sarah Berman, “My Lily Vase,” first place; Corey Parker, “Lizaraptordactalsaurous,” second place; and Brooke Routh, “The Catch,” third place.

Keeton’s Honorable Mention went to Julia Barreda for “Orchid Sea Breeze” and Randy Burton for “Hali in Blue.” Students each won gift certificates from Keeton’s Office and Art Supply.
