SCF Collegiate School Launches New Website

(Bradenton, Fla., May 16, 2012) – State College of Florida Collegiate School (SCFCS) recently launched a new website available at to tout its nationally recognized innovative school.

A tuition-free public charter school located at SCF Bradenton, SCFCS provides students with the opportunity to graduate simultaneously with a high school diploma and an Associate in Arts college degree.

“With SCF Collegiate School, we’ve created a world-class learning environment for grades 6-12,” said SCF President Dr. Lars A. Hafner. “Educators everywhere are looking at our model, and the new website offers a compelling experience for our community and beyond.”

SCFCS Head of School Kelly Monod and SCF Chief Information Officer Feng Hou led the effort to develop the new website, which was designed to highlight students’ accomplishments and communicate information about the school’s unique education model that emphasizes technology to prospective and current students and their families.

“By providing a learning environment that incorporates the use of iPads, e-learning and other technologies, we enhance the delivery of education, engage our students and better prepare graduates for the future,” said Monod.

The site uses a rare development technique called parallax scrolling, which places objects in layers and controls the motion of those layers according to the viewer’s position on the page. The objects move at different speeds, creating a 3D illusion. The parallax portion of the site highlights several key points that make the SCF Collegiate School unique: its accelerated learning program in which a student may simultaneously earn a high school diploma and associate’s degree; opportunities for first-generation college-bound students; innovative curriculum and use of technology; facility design with emphasis on open learning spaces; and the students’ academic performance/college pathways.

Genuity Group and Odato Marketing Group provided the concepts and design, technical development, messaging, original photography and project management.
