SCF Hosts Statewide Collegiate Charter School Summer Conference
(Bradenton, Fla., June 14, 2012) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) hosted a Florida Department of Education Collegiate Charter School Summer Conference at SCF Venice from June 11-12.
SCF President Dr. Lars A. Hafner gave welcoming remarks. Donald Sullivan, M.D., retired state senator, and Adam Miller, charter schools director at the Florida Department of Education, presented at the conference.
About 40 administrators and educators attended from SCF, SCF Collegiate School (SCFCS), Chain of Lakes Collegiate High School, Collegiate High School of Northwest Florida State College, Polk State College Collegiate High School, St. Petersburg Collegiate High School, Clark Advanced Learning Center and Edison Collegiate High School.
Other SCF participants included Dr. Jack Crocker, SCF vice president of academic quality and success; Darlene Wedler-Johnson, SCF Venice provost; Dr. Cyndi Reynolds, SCFCS academic administrator; Kelly Monod, SCFCS Collegiate School head of school; Traci Steen, associate vice president of facilities planning and maintenance; and SCFCS instructors Ryan Hale and Katie Steen.
