SCF Business Club Advisers Lead Student Success at National Conference
(Bradenton, Fla., July 19, 2012) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) professors and SCF Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Business Club advisers Amy Santos, Bradenton, and Dr. Louis Okonkwo, Venice, led the PBL Club members to success at the 2012 National Leadership Conference held in San Antonio, Texas, this summer.
The SCF PBL Club garnered first place in macroeconomics and third in management analysis and decision making.
More than 1,800 PBL members from colleges and universities in the United States, China and the U.S. Virgin Islands attended the conference.
Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is a nonprofit education association with a quarter million members that include students from middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities, and educators, administrators and business professionals. The association prepares students for business-related fields by developing their leadership, communication and team skills and giving them an opportunity to network and compete at local, state and national levels. The association includes four divisions: Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) for high school students; FBLA-Middle Level for junior high, middle, and intermediate school students; PBL for postsecondary students; and Professional Division for business people, FBLA-PBL alumni, educators and parents who support the goals of the association.
