Soprano Martha Lopez Presents Voice Recital

(Bradenton, Fla., September 6, 2012) — Concert soloist Martha Lopez, State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) voice instructor, will present a classical voice recital at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, in the Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.

Lopez will be accompanied by pianist Lurray Myers as she presents an evening of art songs by George Frideric Handel, Franz Schubert, Arthur Honegger, Aaron Copland, Joaquín Turina and Manuel de Falla.

Lopez has performed with local organizations including Sarasota Pops Orchestra, the North Port Symphony and the St. Petersburg Opera. She performs regularly as a concert soloist throughout Southwest Florida. She also is the Florida director of “Ben & I Play for Peace,” a nationwide concert event that raises money for disabled children who need wheelchairs. Lopez earned her bachelor's degree in music from Stetson University and a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from the University of South Florida.
