SCF Venice to Feature “SCF Embraces Differences 2012”

(Bradenton, Fla. September 10, 2012) — An opening reception for the exhibition “SCF Embraces Differences 2012” will be held on Friday, Sept. 21, from noon -2 p.m., at the SCF Venice Library, SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.

Light refreshments will be served at the reception, which is co-hosted by the SCF Venice Philosophy Club, the SCF Diversity/Multicultural Awareness Committee, SCF Collegiate School and SCF Fine Art Gallery.

The exhibition will feature five quotations by SCF students and staff that were selected for the “Embracing Our Differences 2012 Exhibit” displayed at the Sarasota Bayfront Park this spring; a slideshow of additional quotations from SCF that were submitted to the competition; and artwork by SCF Collegiate School students.

The following SCF Collegiate School students’ work will be shown in the exhibit: Damien Bobrek, Rayhanah Waldin, Riley Goerg, Elizabeth Cahill, Angelique Winters, Julie Cardinale, Stephanie Stivers, Kylie Henslick, Tommy Davis and Ann Harrison. Harrison’s “Can’t We All Get Along?” piece received the SCF President’s Choice Award.

The exhibit runs from Sept. 21 – Dec. 5. Library hours are Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
