Keep Manatee Beautiful Recognizes SCF with Public Service Award
(Bradenton, Fla., September 17, 2012) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) was recognized at the 2012 Keep Manatee Beautiful Awards Celebration with a prestigious Public Service Award in the Business and Industry Partnership Category for the Medical Technology & Simulation Center at SCF Lakewood Ranch. The center is SCF's first green certified building and achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold Certification.
Dr. Mike Mears, SCF Bradenton provost and vice president of baccalaureate programs, received a plaque on behalf of the College at the celebration on Thursday, September 13.
The award recognizes leadership in cleaning up and improving the community environment through litter prevention, preventing illegal dumping, beautification and minimizing impacts of waste.
