G.I. Jobs Magazine Names SCF a Military Friendly School

(Bradenton, Fla., September 20, 2012) — For the third year, State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) has been named a 2013 Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs magazine, the premier publication for military personnel transitioning into civilian life.

As a top military friendly school, SCF is recognized among the top 15 percent of all colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide for exhibiting leading practices in the recruitment and retention of students with military experience and ensuring the success of military service members, veterans and spouses as college students.

More than 400 veterans from all branches of the military are enrolled at SCF.

SCF veterans’ centers offer assistance with admissions, course selection, financial aid and tutoring. SCF student clubs, including the Veterans Collegiate Association at Bradenton and the Veterans Exchange at Venice, provide support to veterans as they adjust to civilian life.
