SCF Collegiate School Holds School Advisory Council Meeting
(Bradenton, Fla., February 18, 2013) —The organizational meeting of the School Advisory Council (SAC) of State College of Florida Collegiate School will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 6:30 p.m., at the SCFCS Learning Academics Research Studio.
The purpose of the SAC to include parents and community members into the fabric of the school’s decision-making process. In 1991, the Florida Legislature enacted the creation of School Advisory Councils with the idea that schools become more effective when there is outside collaboration regarding decisions made for student learning. The SAC is a chance for parents and other participants to have a voice for creating, implementing and assessing the school improvement plan at SCFCS. Members include the head of school, parents, teachers, businesspersons, community members and anyone who would represent an interest in SCFCS.
