SCF Jazz Guitarist Marc Mannino to Perform Faculty Concert
(Bradenton, Fla., March 7, 2013) — Marc Mannino, State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) music faculty member and jazz guitarist, will perform with guest artists in a concert at 8 p.m., Thursday, April 11, in Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.
Mannino will perform with John Miller, SCF adjunct music instructor and principal double bass in the Sarasota Orchestra; George Mancini, principal trombonist for the Charlotte Symphony and trombonist for Naples Jazz Orchestra; and Bob Lunergan, drummer for the percussionist band Wordworks Music.
Marc Mannino conducts the SCF Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo. He has expanded the music curriculum to include more offerings in the jazz, rock and pop genres. Mannino is a graduate of Florida State University School of Music with degrees in both music performance and music education. He earned his educational specialist degree by applying existing music research to a real-life classroom setting, proving that music, as a reinforcer, has the ability to modify behavior. Mannino has performed at major jazz and community festivals in Atlanta, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis, Miami and Toronto, Canada.
