SCF Board Report: Special Meeting March 18, 2013
President Probstfeld's Contract Approved
(Bradenton, Fla., March 18, 2013) – State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) District Board of Trustees unanimously approved a two-year contract for Dr. Carol Probstfeld at a special meeting March 18, 2013, formalizing the agreement that made her the college’s sixth president.
Probstfeld accepted the position as president at a special meeting Jan. 22, 2013, after serving as interim president since November 2012. She came to SCF in 2003 as vice president of business and administrative services.
Probstfeld said she appreciated the board’s thoughtful discussion.
“I am especially pleased that my contract as president includes well-defined goals that will help keep me and the board focused on our core mission of serving our students and preparing them to succeed,” Probstfeld said.
The new contract includes an annual base salary of $235,000 for the initial contract year; provides the option to drive a vehicle currently owned by the College with operating expenses paid by the College or convert to a monthly automobile allowance of $1,500; ties an additional annuity contribution to Probstfeld meeting performance goals and targets agreed to by the board and president; and includes other executive benefits and provisions.
Trustee Ed Bailey made the motion to approve the contract, and it was seconded by trustee Eric Robinson. The contract is effective immediately with two minor revisions approved by the board.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for March 26 at 6 p.m. at SCF Venice.
